Map of the Basutoland (now Lesotho)-Orange Free State (now Free State, South Africa) boundary, showing the Free State line as proclaimed by Sir George Grey and Sir P E Wodehouse; the territory according to the treaty of Thaba Bosigo in 1866; the country of the Chief Moroka; and a later concession to the Free State. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to 7 miles. Compass indicator. Copied from a plan by Mr Merriman, surveyor, by C Neumann Thomas, 16 April 1869. The map was originally enclosure number 2 in despatch number 13 of 14 April 1869.
