4 items extracted from CO 48/515. (1) Map showing telegraph communication with the West African coast. Outline map of Africa showing Eastern & South African cables, African Direct Co.'s cables and West African Co.'s cables (with proposed extension), with reference table. MS, coloured, on tracing cloth. Scale: 1 inch to about 430 miles (calculated). (2) Map of Africa, Europe and the Near East showing lines of communication and, in MS, distances between points on the west African coast. Reference table to MS additions. Printed, coloured, with MS additions. Scale: 1 inch to 1000 miles. Published by Waterlow & Sons Ltd, London. (3) Outline map of Africa showing the Eastern, Eastern & South African, Brazilian Submarine & the African Direct Telegraph Companies' systems. The map shows latitude and longitude. Printed, coloured, with MS coloured additions. Reference table to MS additions. Scale: 1 inch to about 430 miles (calculated). Published by Waterlow & Sons Ltd., London.
