2 items extracted from CO 422/15. (1) Sketch map of British New Guinea. (now Papua New Guinea) showing part of the Morehead River. and the site of Tugere camp. Scale: 1 inch to 80 chains. Compass indicator. By Captain F R Barton. (2) Sketch plan showing the tracks of the ship Merrie England in the Torres Strait and the steam launch Ruby along the coast and rivers of British New Guinea. Scale: 1 inch to 12 miles. These maps were originally enclosures to despatch number 35 of 1900. (1) 75.7 cm x 53.8 cm; (2) 74.2 cm x 54.9 cm.
