3 items extracted from CO 209/207. (1) 'Chapman's New Map of the Province of Auckland [New Zealand] 1865'. Reference table. No scale shown. Compass indicator. Printed, with coloured MS additions. Published by Geo[rge] T Chapman, Bookseller and Stationer, Auckland, New Zealand. Endorsed 'Map showing the confiscated lands in the Province of Auckland and also the territory of the Maori king'. (2) Two sketch maps on one sheet showing (a) military posts and native clearings in the Patea district [in Taranaki province, New Zealand] and (b) the Te Ngutu o te Manu and Te Maru clearings. MS, with some colouring. Scale: (a) 1 inch to 2 miles; (b) 1 inch to 6 chains. (a) has a compass indicator. (3) Map of Hawkes Bay Province, New Zealand, showing the route taken by Lieutenant-Colonel Whitmore in pursuit of escaped native prisoners. Scale: 3 inches to 5 miles. MS, coloured, on tracing cloth. Dimensions: (1) 84.4 cm x 56.1 cm; (2) 55.9 cm x 65.5 cm; (3) 53.1 cm x 85.1 cm.
