(1) 'Plan of King William's Town in the Co. of Middlesex, British Kaffraria [now part of Cape Province, South Africa] laid out by command of Lieut Genl Sir H G W Smith, G.C.B., 1848', showing the site of the proposed new infantry barracks. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to 100 yards. Compass indicator. (2) Plan and elevations of the new infantry barracks at King William's Town, with reference table and a note about the nature of the ground at the site. Scale: 1 inch to 25 feet. Compass indicator. (3) Plan, elevation and section of a building to be converted into a barrack store and office. Scale: 1 inch to 10 feet. Compass indicator. (4) Plan, elevation and section of a building to be used as Barrack Sergeants' quarters. Scale: 1 inch to 10 feet. Compass indicator. All four signed by Lieutenant Edward Belfield, and Captains Richard Howorth and M Dill RE. (2)-(4) also signed by P Cole, Colonel, RE.
