2 items extracted from CO 291/104. (1) 'Jeppe's Map of the Transvaal', sheet 1. Two plans on a single sheet consisting of: 'Plan of Johannesburg and Surrounding Suburbs and Townships' (reduced from 'Pritchard's Commercial Map of J'hburg') and 'Plan of Pretoria Suburbs and Surrounding Grounds, reduced from original plan compiled in the Surveyor General's Office, Pretoria, S.A.R.'. The sheet also shows an area along the Limpopo River and its tributaries, the Matlabas, Crocodile, and other rivers. Scale: 1 inch to about 1,000 Cape feet for the Johannesburg plan. [Compiled from surveys by Fred. Jeppe, CMRGS, Surveyor General's Department, and C.F.W. Jeppe, Mining Department, 1899]. Lithographed, coloured, on linen. Lithographed by Wurster Randegger & Cie (J Schlumpf), Winterthur, Switzerland. Published by Edward Stanford, 26 and 27 Cockspur Street, Charing Cross, London SW. (2) 'Johannesburg Municipality 1905. General Plan shewing the Municipal Area'. Map showing the extent of electric tramways. Reference table to 'Malay, Kaffir and Coolie' locations and to Vrededorp. Scale: 1 inch to 2365 feet.
