3 items extracted from CO 147/32. (1) 'Rough Chart of Lagoon', with Porto Novo, Benin, at centre, and tributary waterways. Distance table. Compass indicator. The chart is damaged, with parts missing. (2) Chart of the river Ouémé, Benin, from Dugla to the lagoon, with place names, soundings, and notes on country and inhabitants. (3) Benin. 'Sketch map of the Route from Whydah to Porto Novo, by Road to Appi Vista [Cotonou], by Canoe to Porto Novo'. Key to routes. Scale: 1 inch to about 2 miles. Compass rose. Drawn by C R E Leslie, Sub Lieutenant RN. Surveyed by Lieutenant Rolfe, RN, HMS Active, March 1876. Lithographed by Harrison & Sons, St Martin's Lane, London WC. June 1876. Dimensions: (1) 56 cm x 65 cm; (2) 18 cm x 95 cm; (3) 29 cm x 53 cm.
