1 item (enclosure in Administrator Ussher's despatch number 70 of 22 June 1871) extracted from CO 96/88 (f 195). 'West Coast of Africa (the Gold Coast)'. Shows territory in the Gold Coast (now Ghana) under British jurisdiction and the Dutch territories to be ceded; boundaries; and the extent of interior jurisdiction which 'can only be guessed at averaging probably 60 to 100 miles from Ashantee to the Sea'. Scale: 3 inches to about 38 miles. Compass indicator.
