3 items extracted from CO 273/162. (1) Pinang (formerly Penang, now in Federation of Malaysia). Outline map showing areas surveyed with reference table. No scale shown. Signed by Paul Peters. The map was originally an enclosure in Straits Settlement despatch number 503 of 5 November 1889. (2) Outline map of part of the Malay peninsula and Siam (now Thailand) showing the route of a possible rail extension between Thaipang (now Taiping) in Perak and Sengora (now Songkhla), Thailand. The map also shows rivers, canal and the existing railway. With reference note. Scale: 1 inch to 8 miles. Compass indicator. The map was originally an enclosure in a despatch of 23 November 1889 from Sir C Smith Governor of the Straits Settlements. (3) Map showing proposed line of pipes for the water supply for Bukit Mertajam (in Perak, now in Federation of Malaysia), with reference note. Scale: 1 inch to 1 mile. The map was originally enclosed with a copy of the preliminary report 'Bukit Mertajam Water Supply' by M A Cameron, Deputy Colonial Engineer, 13 November 1889. Dimensions: (1) 54 cm x 38 cm; (2) 107 cm x 58 cm; (3) 26.5 cm x 23 cm.
