2 items (enclosures to Lieutenant General Mathew's despatch of 29 October 1789) extracted from CO 101/29. Antigua. (1) 'Plan of Mr. Dow's House and partly Executed Work adjoining thereto,' at English Harbour, showing measurements of rooms. Scale: 1 inch to 20 feet. Compass indicator. Signed by Charles Shipley, Captain RE, 1 August 1789. (2) Ground adjoining English Harbour and the Ridge showing land necessary to be acquired by the Crown for fortifications, showing plots of land, acreage and notes on proposed use. Reference table to lands to be purchased and proprietors. Scale: 1 inch to 6 chains. Compass indicator. Signed by Charles Shipley, Captain RE [Royal Engineers], 7 July 1789. Dimensions of sheets: (1) 47 cm x 75.7 cm; (2) 52.3 cm x 74.4 cm.
