Description

5 items extracted from CO 267/71. Sierra Leone. 5 sheets of plans and elevations of public buildings in Freetown. (1) Elevation of a schoolhouse and schools. Scale: 1 inch to 8 feet. Copied by G Clack, assistant engineer. (2) Ground plan and gallery plan of Freetown church on a single sheet. Signed by Martin Haffner, engineer. (3) Side and front elevations of Freetown church on a single sheet. Signed by Martin Haffner, engineer. (4) Elevation, ground floor plan and first floor plan for a Town or Market house in Freetown on a single sheet. Copied by G Clack, assistant engineer. (5) Ground floor, first floor and second floor plans for a school in Freetown on a single sheet. The plan shows separate school houses for boys and girls, with a dwelling house between them. Scale: 1 inch to 8 feet. Copied by G Clack, Assistant Engineer. All drawn to illustrate Maj Gen Turner's report of 29 Jan 1826. Dimensions of sheets: (1) 34 cm x 68 cm; (2) 50 cm x 60 cm; (3) 46 cm x 88 cm; (4) 94 cm x 59 cm; (5) 127 cm x 68 cm.

Arrangement

The sheets are bound numbered on the dorse in this sequence. The fronts of the sheets still bear the original numeration MPG 579/3, 4, 5, 1, 2.
