1 item (enclosure to Lord Balcarres' despatch of 20 July 1798) extracted from CO 137/100. Belize. 'A sketch of the principle British Settlement in the Bay of Honduras. Showing the Situation and form of the Works, throw'n up by the Inhabitants for their mutual Defence. Done by Order, and under the directions of Lieutenant colonel Thomas Barrow Superintendent & Commanding in Chief. David Lamb Engineer. May the 2nd. 1797.' Title in decorative cartouche. The town of Belize is shown, with the mouth of the river, soundings, ships at sea, Fort Barrow, Fort Wexford and Fort Dundas. Scale: 1 inch to 200 feet. Compass star. Insets of Fort Barrow (scale: 1 inch to 20 yards), Fort Dundas (scale: 1 inch to 15 yards) and elevation and view of the barracks (scale: 1 inch to 50 feet).
