1 item (enclosure to Governor Tryon's letter of 27 Nov 1776) extracted from CO 5/1107 (folio 811). 'Plan of Fort George and the Lower Battery in the City of New York: the Additional Works of the Rebels are with a Yellow edging. By C. J. Sauthi[er].' The map, which shows the Bowling Green, Governor's garden and barracks, names a number of streets and shows part of the city destroyed by fire. A note reads 'The Great fire of the 22d September 1776 began here at one in the morning'. Scale: about 1 inch to 12 toises (75 feet). Compass star.
