1 item extracted from CO 267/11. West Africa. 'A Draught of the Coast of Africa from the Streights Mouth to Cape Bona Esprance'. European factories on the Gold and Slave Coasts are marked by flags, most of them coloured to indicate nationality. The English fort established at James Island in 1663 is shown; the French post near it at Albreda, established in 1681, is not. Scale: 1 inch to about 89 leagues (267 miles). Compass indicators, within the border, at lower left and upper right corners. Near left border a meridian of longitude, at about 20°W marked with degrees of latitude. Title in a rectangular frame.
