1 item extracted from CO 48/200 (f. 25). Natal. Three plans on one sheet. (1) 'Sketch of the Road from Port Natal to Bushman's Rand': map showing rivers, high land, notes on country; Boer encampment. Scale: 1 inch to 4 miles. (2) 'Plan of Bushman's Rand': showing high land, roads, rivers, sites of present encampment and proposed laager, gardens. Scale: 1 inch to 1 mile. (3) 'Plan of Pieter Maretz Burg as proposed to be erected at Bushman's Rand'. Compass indicators. A N Sherson, Lt 72nd Highlanders, March 1839. With note: 'Time, on Horseback from the Military Post at Port Natal to Pieter Maretz Burg (under saddle)... 11 hours'.
