2 items (originally illustrating: 'Suggestions for the Improvement of the River Danube, Between Isatcha and the Sulina Entrance', by G B Rennie; published by M Soul, Artizan Office, 3 Agar Street, Strand, 1856) extracted from FO 78/1235. Eastern Europe: Danube Delta (now in Romania). (1) 'Plan of the Delta of the River Danube Shewing the Proposed Improvements of the Navigation of the Sulina Branch, from Isaktcha [now Isaccea] to Soulina [now Sulina]'. Compass rose. (2) 'Plan For Improving the Soulina Mouth of the River Danube ...'. Reference table to temporary buoys and wrecks. Scale: 5.6 inches to 1 sea mile [1:13,028]. Compass indicator. Both items drawn by G B Rennie, Civil Engineer; engraved at the Artizan Office, 1856. Dimensions: (1) 29 cm x 36.5 cm; (2) 22 cm x 36 cm.
