Description

3 items (relating to Major W Crossman's report to the Treasury, 18 July 1867) extracted from FO 671/3. China. 3 sketch maps, showing British consulate and legation buildings. (1) 'Peking [now Beijing]. Sketch of the Legation': showing houses, quarters, stables etc. (2) Map of Amoy (now Xiamen) and adjacent areas, showing the sites of consul's house and other offices. Reference table. Scale: 1 inch to about 1 sea mile. Compass indicator. (3) Map showing the business area of Swatow (now Shantou), with British Consulate buildings and the port. Scale: 1 inch to 0.32 sea miles. Dimensions: (1) 33 cm x 18 cm; (2) 23 cm x 23 cm; (3) 23 cm x 22 cm. A reference table to item 1 remains with the parent document.
