Sketch plan of Pagoda Anchorage & Island': map showing the river Min, high ground on the riverside and the area covered at high tide; also shows buildings, including Custom House, Pagoda, the Vice-Consul's house, the fort, the Franco-Chinese Arsenal and the hospital, and three sites marked as possible positions for the Vice-Consulate. (2) 'Pagoda Anchorage. Rough Survey of the top of Mamoi Hill showing site purchased for Vice Consulate': also showing adjacent land and buildings, including land that the Vice-Consul would prefer to be part of the area for the Vice-Consulate; also labelled in Chinese characters. Descriptive note on the ground, vegetation etc. Scale: 1 inch to 30 feet. Compass indicator. Dimensions: (1) 28.7 cm x 24.9 cm; (2) 39.6 cm x 57.1 cm. Originally attached to despatches from C A Swilair to T F Wade, Her Majesty's Chargé d'Affaires: (1) number 16, 30 March 1870; (2) number 42, 14 December 1870.
