5 items (to illustrate report on the Upper Silesian Plebiscite Commission, May 1923) extracted from FO 371/8810. 5 maps of Upper Silesia (now in Poland). (1-2) 'Upper-Silesian Plebiscite-Area': 2 copies of a map showing the frontier, district boundaries and railways. Reference table. Scale: 1:600,000. Overprinting showing: (1) the final results of the plebiscite by districts (Kreise); (2) zones A, B and C. Both initialled: D M M, 18 May, 1921. (3-4) 'Upper Silesia Plebiscite Area': 2 copies of a map showing mineral resources, coal-bearing areas, district boundaries and railways. Reference tables. Scale: 1:600,000. Printed at the War Office, 1923. Overprinting showing: (3) the Polish (Korfanty) line, the Percival-Marinis line, the Le Rond line, the Marinis variation, a German proposal and Sforza proposals; (4) alternative British and French proposals of 4 and 9 Aug [1921], and the League of Nations line. (5) 'Population Map of Upper-Silesian Plebiscite Area': showing the distribution of Poles and Germans, the boundaries of the plebiscite zone and districts, and railways. Reference table. Scale: 1:200,000. Produced by the British Section, Interallied Administrative and Plebiscite Commission, Upper Silesia. Initialled: D M M 18 February 1921.
