4 items extracted from FO 5/693 (folio 253). Panama. Drawings of the proposed road across the country from the Chiriquí Gulf [Pacific Ocean] to Chiriquí Lagoon [Caribbean Sea]. (1) 'Topographical Map of the Proposed line of the Chiriquí Route as surveyed and the exact Position of the Coal Beds, as reported by Prof. Manross. Office of Egbert L. Viele, Topographical Engineer': engraved map showing high land, towns, existing roads and the Improvement Company's lands. Scale: 1 inch to 5 miles (1:316,800). (2) Engraved geological section through the Secretary coal seams. (3)-(4) 2 lithographed panoramic views of the road. Printed for the Chiriquí Improvement Company by F Mayer & Co, New York. Dimensions: (1) 58.4 cm x 72.9 cm; (2) 18.8 cm x 33 cm; (3)-(4) 23.6 cm x 33 cm.
