4 items (annexes to Foreign Office Confidential Print of the Declaration by the Turkish and British governments, London, 29 July 1913; print number 10390) extracted from FO 416/57. Middle East. 4 maps showing the border area between Persia and Turkish territory at the northern end of the Persian Gulf; (the areas shown are now in Iran and Iraq). (1) GSGS 2641: 'Sketch map showing Turco-Persian frontier west and south of Hawizeh [now Hawr Al Hawizah]': shows the boundary line acording to the Declaration of July 1913; also rivers, marshland and areas of cultivation and habitation. Scale: 1:250000. Marked: 'Map No 1'. (2) GSGS 2635: 'Sketch map of Muhammareh to indicate Turco-Persian boundary': shows the [newly agreed] boundary line, waterways and principal buildings. Reference table to buildings: Scale: 2 inches to 1 mile. Marked: 'Map No 2'. (3) GSGS 2640a 'Sheet no. I. Map of Shatt-al-Arab and Bahmanshir. Including Muhammareh and Abbadan I': shows the boundary line as locally observed, the limit of date groves, the limit of cultivation, a telegraph line and the main channel of Shatt-al-Arab. Reference table. Scale 2 inches to 1 mile. Compass indicator. Marked: 'Map No 3'. (4) GSGS 2640b: 'Sheet no. II. Map of Shatt-al-Arab and Bahmanshir. Including Muhammareh and Abbadan I': shows details as in item 3. Scale 2 inches to 1 mile. Compass indicator. MS addition in border. All items endorsed with the names of the signatories: [Sir] E[dward] Grey, [British Foreign Secretary] and J Hakky [Hakki Pasha, Turkish representative].
