2 items extracted from FO 1/32. 'The Italian Sphere of Influence in Africa': 2 copies of a map showing boundaries determined in 1891 and 1894. Reference table to boundaries. Lithographed at the War Office, Jan 1895. (1) [Printed] additions, coloured, made in November 1895, show the boundaries of Abyssinia as claimed and occupied, 10 April 1891, and the proposed new frontiers of Somaliland and the French Protectorate. Originally enclosed in Mr Rodd's despatch of 18 May 1897. (2) MS additions show boundaries, as in item 1, and name provinces and their governors. Reference table, signed by Count A E W Gleichen, Staff Captain,17 June 1897. The area shown is now in Djibouti, Ethiopia, Somalia and Sudan.
