Hong Kong surveyed by Capt n. Sir Edward Belcher H.M. Surveying Ship Sulphur,1841. Commd r. A.M. Field, H.M. Surveying Ship Egeria 1891. Commd r. W.O. Moore, H.M. Surveying Ship Penguin 1892-3'. Key to abbreviations. Information on tides. Scale: 6 inches to 3 miles. Compass roses. Magnetic variation 1894. Inset: 'Tathong Channel Fotaumun Pass', surveyed by Lieutenants Balfour and Baker, RN, 1878, with corrections by A M Field, Commander RN, 1893. Engraved by J & C Walker. Published at the Hydrographic Office of the Admiralty, 1 May 1843. Telegraphic determination of the position of Hong Kong Cathedral by Lt Cdr Green, United States Navy, 1881. Large corrections Dec 1883, 1889, 1892-3, Dec 1894; small corrections 1876-1893. Sold by J D Potter, 31 Poultry and 11 King Street, Tower Hill, London. Coloured MS additions illustrate the seizureof two junks in British waters by Chinese Customs in 1895.
