Description

1 item (enclosure in letter of 26 May 1845 from the Admiralty ) extracted from FO 25/11. 'A General Chart of South America, from a drawing by Lieut. A. B. Becher, R.N., combined with the best English and Spanish Surveys in the Hydrographical Office, and adjusted by the latest Astronomical Observations'. Scale: 1 inch to about 300 miles (at equator). Compass star. Engraved by J Walker. Published at the Hydrographical Office of the Admiralty, London, 4 November 1824. MS notes on lights. Originally enclosed with copy of despatch from J J Onslow, Capt RN, HMS Daphne, concerning the Galapagos Islands.
