Description

1 item (enclosure to letter of 3 July 1850 from H Merivale, Colonial Office) extracted from FO 5/523. Map of the Gulf of St Lawrence, showing the area permitted to the Americans for fishing by the 1818 Convention as interpreted by Law Officers' Opinion of 30 August 1841. The line is drawn from the coast of Labrador through East Cape (Anticosti Island), Cap d' Espoir (Gaspé Peninsula), Miscou Island (New Brunswick), and North and East Points (Prince Edward Island). Scale: 1 inch to about 21 miles.
