1 item (enclosure to Lord Torrington's despatch no 18 of 2 May 1783) extracted from FO 26/4. France: 'Les Environs de Cherbourg dessinés sur la grande carte de M. Cassini dans l'atlas François'. Map showing Cherbourg and soundings, with place names and fortifications. Scale: 6.7 cm to 3,000 toises. Cardinal points. Drawn to illustrate 'Note sur la Rade de Cherbourg'. Torrington described this map as 'by the same able hand, who drew up that, upon Dunkirk... a person so perfectly Acquainted, & instructed in the Science of Hydrodynamics'.
