Description (What the record is about)

1 item (enclosure to Mr Hammond's despatch of 12 June 1792) extracted from FO 4/15. 'A Map of the Genesee Lands in the County of Ontario and State of New York according to an accurate survey which was made of the same 1790'. Shows division into township lots, each six miles square. Key to conventional signs; reference table to sale and settlement of townships. Scale: 1 inch to 8 miles. Compass indicator. Some lots are annotated in MS: 'C.W.'. MS notes indicate that 'All the Townships marked C.W. are to be sold and settled', and that 'C.W.' signifies Charles Williamson.
