1 item (enclosure to despatch of 24 May 1878 from C. Dickson, General and Military Attaché) extracted from FO 78/2789. Turkey: 'Sketch map shewing approximate positions of Russian's and Turk's near Constantinople'. Also shows rivers, towns, roads, disposition of forces. Reference table. 6 inches to 10 miles. Compass indicator. Drawn by Herbert Chermside, Lt RE, 22 May 1878, according to whom 'This Sketch Map has been very hastily compiled (2½ Days) from several maps of different scales.' Annotated: 'On the 23rd the Russian occupied Agachly, and Ghima Khan the latter with 5000 men. This information arrived too late to be put on to the Map.'
