This series contains the Committee Organisation Books of the Cabinet Office. These books give details of most committees and sub-committees comprising the Cabinet committee structure from 1945. Committees appointed ad hoc, such as groups known as MISC or GEN held in CAB 130, are not included.
As a result of the close historical and administrative links between the Cabinet Office and the pre 1964 Ministry of Defence, committees of the latter department are included in the Committee Organisation Books until the 1965 issue: CAB 161/16
