Middlesex: Westminster: Saint James's. Seven sheets of drawings of the Carlton Club, Pall Mall: (1) first floor plan; (2) ground floor plan; (3) mezzanine plan; (4-5) basement plans); (6) north elevation, as proposed to be altered; (7) front elevation, as proposed to be altered. Scale: (1-5) 3 inches to 40 feet [1:160]; (6-7) 1 inch to 8 feet [1:96]. Additions, in red ink, on items (1-3) and (5) and on sheets of paper affixed to the faces of those items, show proposed alterations; additions by Sydney Smike, February 1846. Tied together with cotton tape through holes pierced at the left-hand edge, with a seal affixed over the tape. A note on the dorse of item (7) states that these drawings were received by James Pennethorne from the Earl of Hardwick, 19 February 1846.
