Enclosure award and map of Norton Common (in the parish of Freshwater), Hampshire (Isle of Wight). Map covers the enclosed area only (85.756 acres) and shows the land after enclosure. Also shows mud at low water, breakwater, list of post-enclosure field acreages, footpaths or bridleways, carriage road to the ferry, ferry to Yarmouth, some named landowners, list of enclosure allottees, boundary stones. Mention of land 'sold to the Board of Ordnance'. Scale: 1 inch to 3 chains. Construction lines shown. Map certified for accuracy, 15 December 1859. Valuer: Charles Osborn, Fareham, Hampshire, Land Surveyor
