Enclosure award and map of Chale (parish), Hampshire (Isle of Wight). Map covers the enclosed area only (127 acres) and shows the land after enclosure. Also shows chalybeate spring, boat houses, woods, post-enclosure field acreages, hedges, fences or walls, road widths, houses and uninhabited buildings (distinguished by colour), named hotel, preventive station, pump, some named landowners, named physical features, relief (shown by hachures). With border. Scale: 1 inch to 3 chains. Construction lines shown. By Richard Christopher Gale, Winchester, 1849. Map certified for accuracy, 19 November 1852.
