Description

Enclosure award and map of South Stoke (parish), Oxfordshire. Map A covers the enclosed area only (1750 acres) and shows the land before and after enclosure. Also shows named lakes or ponds, named river (with direction of flow), woods, named footpaths or bridleways, named buildings, named railway, field boundary ownership. With border. Scale: 1 inch to 3 chains. Construction lines shown. By George Hewett, junior, Land Surveyor, Oxford, October - December 1850. Map certified for accuracy, 30 June 1853. Map B covers the whole parish / township (3370.358 acres) and shows the land before enclosure. Also shows woods, trees, open field strips, railway. With border. Scale: 1 inch to 6 chains. By Benjamin Badcock, [1849]. Valuer: William John Dodd, Ipsden, Oxfordshire, Land Surveyor. Dimensions of maps: Map A) 131 cm x 397 cm, Map B) 202 cm x 100 cm
