Description

Enclosure award and map of Alwinton Common (in the parish of Alwinton), Northumberland. Map covers the enclosed area only (793 acres) and shows the land after enclosure. Also shows named river (with direction of flow), spring, well, footpaths or bridleways, road widths, old cattle folds, sheep fold, named buildings, township boundary, named physical features, relief (shown by hachures). Industrial land-use: old distillery. Scale: 1 inch to 3 chains. Construction lines shown. By J Drysdale, [1856]. Map certified for accuracy, 20 August 1862. Valuer: Thomas Forster, Scrainwood, Alnham, Northumberland, Farmer
