Description

Enclosure award and map of Carnforth (township in the parish of Warton), Lancashire. Map covers the enclosed area only (49 acres) and shows the land after enclosure. Also shows lakes or ponds, named river (with direction of flow), marsh or wetland, [?]sand hills, woods, list of post-enclosure field acreage, road widths, named inn, named buildings, named railway (with station), field boundary ownership (struck through), some named landowners, relief (shown by rock drawing). With border. Scale: 1 inch to 3 chains. Map certified for accuracy, 3 March 1864. Valuer: William Talbot, Lane House, Burton in Kendal, Westmorland, Land Surveyor
