Enclosure map of Lydney, Gloucestershire. Map on 7 sheets covering the enclosed area only (746 acres) and showing the land after enclosure. Part of an Ordnance Survey Old Series sheet acts as an index map. Also shows lakes or ponds, public springs, woods, plantations, uncultivated ground, footpaths or bridleways, named turnpike roads, roads (some named), houses and uninhabited buildings (distinguished by colour), named buildings, named railway, quarry, land allotted to the poor, field boundary ownership, some named landowners. Industrial land-use: coal works, entrance of level. With border. Scale: 1 inch to 2 chains. Construction lines shown. By [?William Sturge], [1862]. Map certified for accuracy, 23 June 1864. Valuer: William Sturge, 1 Broad Street, Bristol, Land Surveyor. Dimensions of maps: 77 cm x 96 cm, 123 cm x 131 cm, 97 cm x 167 cm, 98 cm x 216 cm, 98 cm x 121 cm, 78 cm x 96 cm, 66 cm x 97 cm
