Description

Enclosure award and map of Ellenborough (township in the parish of Dearham), Cumberland. Map on two sheets. Map A covers the enclosed area only (105 acres) and shows the land after enclosure. Also shows lakes or ponds, drainage features, post-enclosure field acreages, recreation grounds, named turnpike roads and other roads, named inn, named buildings, field boundary ownership, some named landowners, named enclosure allottees. With border. Scale: 1 inch to 2 chains. By John Watson, junior, Kendal, 1847. Map certified for accuracy, 15 March 1849. Map B covers the whole parish / township (425 acres) and shows the land before enclosure. Map of the lands in respect of which allotments are made. Also shows harbour, dock, quays, breakwaters, named railway. With border. Scale: 1 inch to 6 chains. By John Watson, junior, Kendal, 1847.
