Germany: 'Topographisch oeconomisch und militærische Charte des Herzogthums Mecklenberg Schwerin und des Fürstenthums Ratzeburg ... aufgenohmen ... durch den Grafen von Schmettau ... 1788'. Map showing area between Mecklenburger Bucht, Prignitz, Lauernburg and Neustrelitz. Sixteen sheets, joined to form four. Scale: 15 cm to 1 German mile. Title, scale bars, index and notes set in impression of scroll. Detailed reference table, in French and German, to towns, villages, farms, gardens, routes, rivers, terrain, highlands, boundaries. Table of abbreviations. Notes on background to and compilation of map. Compass rose. Sections 10 and 13 engraved by Joeck, copper-engraver, Berlin; the remainder by Alberti, copper-engraver, Vienna. Two inset maps: strip of land flanked by Baltic Sea and Saalar Boden, around Dierhagen; 'Die Grafschaft Ruppin', which appears to be area around present-day Neuruppin and Altruppin, south of area shown on map.
