Plan, with additional title, 'England and Wales laid down in a method for shewing the Distances, between the Cities, Market Towns and most considerable Villages. By John Adams'. English title in cartouche surmounted by two putti holding a horse with webbed feet; two men playing horns; sea creatures, and coat of arms at top. Reference table. Explanatory notes on towns and roads. Title and reference table in decorative cartouche. Decorative border. Scale: 1 inch to 6 miles. Compass roses and rhumb lines. Lines and circles engraved by Thomas Burnford. Letters engraved by Gregory King. Printed for Thomas Bowles, St Paul's Churchyard and John Bowles and Son, Cornhill, London. Two sheets: 118 cm x 200 cm and 70 cm x 200cm.
