Short title appears on a frontispiece showing bay with ships, sailors, small boats, natives, casks, palms, turtle, alligator and flamingoes. Background of a volcano, above a cherub with trident and torch. Introduction dealing with discovery, situation, produce, government, religion. Dedicated to Sir William Young, Baronet, late governor of Dominica, by Robert Sayer. Plate above dedication shows winged figure holding arrow, beside coat of arms, with motto 'Press Through'. Background: palms, sea and a ship. Foreground: palette, kegs, telescope, globe, music, protractor, dividers. 'By the late Thomas Jeffreys, Geographer to the King. Printed for Robert Sayer and John Bennett ... 1780'. A later edition.
