Description

Belgium: Scheldt River: 'Carte de l'Escaut, par Mr Stessels, Lieutenant de Vaisseau'. Map showing towns and fortifications on the Scheldt between Lillo and Rupelmonde. Reference table to tides. Compass stars. Engraved by J Nauwens. Printed by F Bizolier. The British Library Catalogue lists a map of the Scheldt on the same scale, also by Stessels but with a slightly different title, and suggests the date '[?c. 1864]'.
