Belgium: Antwerp: 'A Plan of the Town, Fortifications and Citadel of Antwerp'. Manuscript additions show French batteries and entrenchments; and there is a printed reference table to French, Belgian and Dutch fortifications. [?1832]: this date, taken from FO 925 index, appears to be confirmed by the fact that the map at MPI 1/328 was filed with papers dating from 1831-1833. In December 1832, the citadel of Antwerp was bombarded by an Anglo-French force which compelled the Dutch to surrender the citadel to the King of the Belgians. Scale: 4 inches to 1 mile. Compass indicator. Engraved and published by J Cross, 18 Holborn, London. Sold also by J Wyld, Charing Cross. Among the papers of Charles Purton Cooper, Secretary to the Record Commission, 1831-1837.
