Netherlands: Scheldt River. Four maps: (1) 'Kaart van de Verbindingen tusschen de Ooster- en Wester-Schelde': shows dams, South Beveland Canal, new line of canal from Hansweert to Wemeldinge, and line of the Sloe and the Bergen-op-Zoom Canal. Reference table. Scale: 12 cm to 12,000 ells. Dimensions: 56 cm x 69.5 cm. (2) 'De Reede van Vlissingen naar Rammekens van af 1800 tot 1865': five diagrams, showing levels of the Sloe in 1800, 1818, 1823, 1842 and 1865. Scale: 1:50,000. On one sheet 33 cm x 50 cm. (3) Sections of the Sloe at Fort Nolle, Flushing, Fort Ruijter, Fort Zoutman and Fort Rammekens in 1800, 1818, 1823, 1842 and 1865. Horizontal scale 1:10,000; vertical scale 1:500. Dimensions: 50 cm x 33 cm. (4) Sections of the Scheldt and the Sloe in 1800, 1825 and 1865. Scale: 1:500, 1:10,000 and 1:50,000. On one sheet, 62 cm x 73 cm. All printed by the Topographical Department, [Dutch] Ministry of War. To accompany a report on the damming of the eastern Scheldt and the Sloe, 6 March 1866. These plans were evidently used by Sir C Hartley: compare FO 37/453, MPK 1/463 and MPK 1/457.
