Netherlands: Noord Holland province: hydrographical map of area between Alkmaar, Hoorn, Haarlem and Naarden. Scale: 1 inch to 2 inches. According to the FO 925 index, this map accompanied Mr Thurlow's report of 10 April 1867, on the 'Waterst[r]aat' of the Netherlands, enclosure 3 in William Ward's Commercial dispatch number 31 of 12 April 1867 (see FO 37/443); however, only Thurlow's covering letter of 10 April 1867 and not the report or the nine maps illustrating it are present in FO 37/443. Thurlow describes the enclosures to his report (on engineering works for prevention of soil erosion by sea and rivers) as 'Mr. Conrad's maps'; this may mean that FO 925/3811 is part of 'Waterst[r]aatskaart van Nederland, op de schaal van 1:50,000', by J F W Conrad, published between 1865 and 1874.
