Italy: 'Plan of the Faro, or Strait of Messina, By Captain W H Smyth, Royal Navy. ...'. Scale: 1 inch to 800 yards. Compass lines. Compass variation 1815. Engraved by J Walker. Published at the Hydrographic Office, Admiralty, 19 July 1823. Plate 16 of The Hydrography of Sicily, Malta and the Adjacent Islands'. The chart was subsequently issued as Admiralty chart 177. Corrected to 1853 and with compass variation 1857.
