'Atlas géographique de l'Empire de Russie, du Royaume de Pologne et du Grand Duché de Finlande divisé en gouvernemens'. Sixty maps on eighty-three sheets, with title sheet and index sheet. Maps show places in the Russian Empire, the Kingdom of Poland and the Grand Duchy of Finland, and also show the north-west coast of America and Aleutian Islands. Maps show waterways, roads, towns according to size, fortifications, customs houses, administrative boundaries. Atlas title also in Russian; individual maps in Russian and Polish, German, French or Swedish. Reference tables; table of abbreviations; table of distances. Various scales. Compiled and engraved by Piadischeff, 'Fonctionnaire de la 6e Classe' at the Military Topographical Depôt, Imperial General Staff, St Petersburg. Calligraphy engraved by Chkatoff, Faleleef, Finaghenof, Froloff, Ieremin and Ivanov. Title page states atlas compiled between 1820 and 1827, but most maps are dated 1829. Revised and corrected 1834. Dimensions: each sheet 49 cm x 42 cm, bound in volume 51.5 cm x 43 cm.
