Europe, south-east: 'Ottoman Empire, Turkey in Europe'. An Austrian Staff Map showing boundaries of accessions to Montenegro, Servia and Roumania; 'The New Principality of Bulgaria', and the Province of Eastern Roumelia as settled by the Treaty of Berlin. Map showing area between the Danube estuary, the Sea of Marmara, Kavaje and Travnik. Certified by Captain J C Ardagh, Royal Engineers, 13 July 1878, to be the original copy showing the boundaries as stated. Forwarded with Sir L Simmons' despatch of 23 July 1878, which was not found in FO 78/3184. The map consists of joined sheets taken from at least two different editions.
