With corrections by Captain E Lyons, Royal Navy and other officers, 1830-1831. Insets: 'The Strait of the Dardanells the ancient Hellespont from the French and Spanish Plans with corrections by Captains E Lyons and the Honourable F Grey Royal Navy and Captain R D Middleton 1830-31-32'; 'The Boghaz of Stamboul or the Bosphorus from the French and Spanish Plans with corrections by Captain E Lyons and Honourable F Grey RN 1830-31'; 'Kemeris'; 'Pasha Harbour ... HMS Blonde 1830'; and 'Artaki Bay by Mr C Tyers'. Pencilled additions illustrate entrance of Sir William Parker's Squadron into the Dardanelles. Notes on navigation. Compass roses. Engraved by J and C Walker. Additions to 1854. The inset map of the Bosphorus has been replaced by a northern extension of the Dardanelles. Published at the Hydrographic Office, Admiralty, 17 June 1833. Filed with copy of Viscount Palmerston's despatch number 298 of 24 November 1849 to Sir Stratford Canning.
