Compass roses. Drawn from the surveys of Captains William H Smyth FRS, Royal Navy; Richard Copeland, Royal Navy, and Commander Thomas Graves FRGS, Royal Navy. By Isaac Purdy. The chart shows the telegraph cables and stations belonging to the Turkish and Greek Governments and to the Eastern Telegraph Company. Manuscript reference table. Insets: 'Corfu Road', 'The Strait of Khios', 'Marmarice and Karagatch Harbours', 'Port Argostoli', 'Zante Bay', 'Gulf of Smyrna', 'Town and Ports of Rhodes', 'The Gulfs of Makry and Skopea', and 'Tenedos'. Surveyed by Smyth, Copeland and Graves at various dates between 1835 and 1842. Published by R H Laurie, Fleet St, London. Corrected 1885.
