Description (What the record is about)

The Balkans. Map of part of south-western Montenegro, between Lake Scutari and the Adriatic. Map shows boundary as demarcated by Montenegrin Boundary Commission, and as proposed by Turkey and by Russia. Reference table. Compass indicator. Signed by Captain M T Sale, Royal Engineers, and enclosed in despatch of 9 August 1879. Subsequently lithographed in colour at the Intelligence Branch, Quarter Master General's Department; a copy of the print was bound with Sale's despatch (see MFQ 1/36/1, removed from FO 78/3061).
